Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Pew does not require a Pew account.

Where are my notes stored?

Notes are stored on your iPhone. If iCloud sync is enabled and available, your notes may sync through your Apple iCloud account.

Why does Pew ask for microphone permission?

Only when you start a sermon recording. This lets the app save audio alongside your notes. Recording is optional — you can create, edit, search, and export notes without it.

Can I export my notes?

Yes. Pew generates PDF exports of your sermon notes for sharing, printing, or archiving.

Which Bible version does Pew use?

Pew v1 uses the Berean Standard Bible (BSB) for verse cards. Verse text is loaded from the BSB API when you expand a detected reference.

I don't see my notes on another device.

Check that you're signed into iCloud on both devices, iCloud Drive is enabled, Pew has iCloud permission if prompted, and both devices have network access. If it continues, contact support.

A recording didn't save.

Make sure microphone permission is enabled for Pew in iOS Settings and the device has enough free storage. For important recordings, avoid force-quitting the app while recording.

How do I delete a recording?

Open the note that has the recording and use the delete-recording option in the note editor.

Does Pew cost anything?

No. Pew v1 is free.
